In September of 2012, a little life was changed forever, when 8 year old Kayla was found to have acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

She was immediately sent to St. Jude where doctors send their toughest cases because St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers.

Kayla got chemotherapy at St. Jude, where the groundbreaking development of combination therapy for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia or ALL has revolutionized leukemia therapy worldwide and increased the survival rate from 4 percent when St. Jude opened in 1962 to 94 percent today!

Kayla's treatment could last more than 2 years, but she has stayed positive and upbeat, even during the hardest times. The staff at St. Jude enjoy her amazing smile, and they say she is something of a “big sister” to newer and younger patients, helping them learn to feel at ease.

Help out Kayla and her fellow St. Jude patients by becoming a partner in hope. Donations can be made by phone at 1-800-303-1135. Read more of Kayla's story here.
