The city of Duluth invites you to the Mayor's Pride Reception Event. Tomorrow, the event will be held at the Depot from 4:00pm – 8:00 p.m. The 29th Annual Duluth-Superior Pride Festival over the Labor Day weekend opens always opens with Mayor Don Ness and the Duluth City Council welcoming the visitors to the weekend event.

Here's how traffic will look, so make alternate plans. Michigan Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 5th Avenue West to 6th Avenue West from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. to allow for event set up / tear down. This will include the closing of the Michigan Street exit off the freeway. Michigan Street from 5th Avenue West to 6th Avenue West will also be posted no parking after 3:00 p.m.

The city parking lot at the bottom of 6th Avenue West WILL REMAIN OPEN and is accessible from 6th Avenue West, which will be signed for 2-way traffic from Michigan Street up to Superior Street.

Friday's events include a poetry reading at Amazing Grace Cafe, an art exhibit and Youth Pride at the Clyde.

Saturday begins with a family 5-k in the morning and then 29th annual festival gets under way from 11 to 7 at Bayfront Park. The celebration ends on Sunday with a parade and picnic in Superior, the Fruit Float on the Vista Fleet and the Foo Foo Choo Choo on the North Shore Scenic Railroad.
