The Hermantown Hawks punched their ticket to another State Class A Championship after a convincing 7-1 win over St. Paul Academy. The Hawks scored first, with Ryan Sandelin tallying the goal. St. Paul Academy tied the game up midway through the opening period, and the Hawks didn't look back from there.

This win earns Hermantown their seventh straight appearance in the championship game of the tournament, a streak that began in 2010. The Hawks are hoping seven is their lucky number, looking to end a streak of second place finishes and win their first championship since 2007 against the team with which they started this current streak.

Hermantown will face Breck, who won the other semifinal game on Friday 4-0 over Thief River Falls. Hermantown and Breck played each other in the 2010 Championship, with the Hawks falling to Breck 2-1 in that game.
