As The Shard - the newest addition to London's skyline - gets set to open, Brits are calling attention to the way that the building is changing the look and feel of the city.

At 72 stories, The Shard sits in contrast to the rest of London's "low-rise" skyline.  Because most of the cities downtown buildings date back centuries, they tend to be ground-hugging spaces.  The Shard - with it's modern glass exterior - offers a lot of office space, while using very little footprint or real estate.

Critics call it blasphemous.  Enthusiasts say that it's modern evolution.  What do YOU think?
