The pedestrian wooden bridge in Lester Park that goes over Amity Creek near 'The Deeps' is closed until further notice due to structural concerns.

Officials have made the decision to close the bridge because of cracks in the support beams. There also is some wood rotting, and there are missing rocks from the abutment.

The City of Duluth has issued a press release on the matter, and says that the bridge will need to be replaced next summer. An administrative review will need to take place by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource before that can happen.

In the meantime, stay off the bridge. The bridge has been barricaded.
