Leif Garrett was in every issue of Tiger Beat it seemed. Everywhere he went women wanted him and men wanted to be him, even if he was very young. Leif is noticing some things that are the same with he and the Bieber.

First he wanted to make clear the fact that he never had a huge amount of hits, just one top ten to his credit. He was very popular like Justin is. Leif tells the LA Times, "When you’ve got that sort of power at that young age," Garrett said, "and everything at your doorstep, you put out that bad boy image. At that age, testosterone, hormones, all of the money, you see what else you can get away with."

Leif did too, hooking up with women, drug dealers and many  low life people who all wanted something from him and said they were his friend, as long as the drugs and money and power were still there.

Garrett wound up on Dr. Drew's popular celebrity rehab show trying to sort out years of problems with different things. He is better now, and when he was talking to the LA Times he was asked if he sees some things that are the same.He said, ""[O]ur circumstances are quite different. This is something he really wanted to do and he achieved it," Garrett said. "I was in acting."

Still, Leif Garrett says, there is some advice he's like to pass on. TRUST NO ONE!! Garrett says there is always someone around the corner that wants a part of you, or take you down while you are at the top. Build close friend ships with people you have known before  you were a big deal. The biggest advice Garrett told Bieber, Don't believe your own publicity, someone probably wrote it for you, made it up about you, or is trying to get you to say or do something you don't want to.
