Launch Party For Imagine Canal Park Happens September 7

The Canal Park we know and love today is much different than the industrial district is was just a short three or four decades ago; Now a new initiative is underway to steer a course for its future development.  Learn about the plans during the Imagine Canal Park Launch Party, Friday, September 7 at 3:00 PM in  the Lighthouse Parking Lot next to the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center.

Recent visitors may have noticed some of the changes already.  Organizers have created pedestrian-oriented spaces, sidewalk decals, signs, and a pedestrian plaza on Buchanan Street - complete with seating.  There is also a Farner's Market and musical performers.  Upcoming plans have a Lighthouse Park opening up - through September 17 - which will host kid-friendly activities and play spaces.
