winter storm warning remains in effect for the Twin Ports region, and has been extended until 5 pm today (Friday)  for falling snow and blowing/drifting snow. The strong, gusty winds off Lake Superior along with continued snowfall will make for messy conditions through the daytime hours today.

What to Expect

Winds are calming through the afternoon, reducing the fuel for the lake effect snow that was falling earlier today. A chance of additional snowfall continues, with the possibility of an additional 1-3 inches through the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening hours of tonight.

Conditions will improve greatly for tomorrow, with a slight chance of morning snow, before some clearing and daytime high temperatures approaching 40 degrees. Another significant snow system will move again for Sunday, offering the chance at additional measurable snowfall. We'll have the latest information as it becomes available.
