Lane Restrictions On Highway 61-London Road At Lester River Bridge Have Been Postponed, But Work Continues
Contrary to earlier reports, motorists will NOT see lane closures as the road construction project on Highway 61-London Road near the Lester River Bridge commence.
Officials with the Department of Transportation are now saying that they don’t believe that lane closures will be necessary for the project that runs September 26th to October 19th. Crews will be working beneath the bridge using access from a truck parked on top of the deck.
Work is expected to be performed during daylight hours.
This project will complete the Lester River Bridge Rehabilitation Project that began in 2010. Grading and new pavement will help to maintain and preserve the historic overpass.
