It's been a fast summer!  It seems like it just started and now we're fast approaching what many consider to be the final weekend of the season - Labor Day.  And - as usual - the holiday brings changes to the City of Superior's garbage and recycling pickup schedules.

Officially, the city will observe the holiday on Monday, September 3.  As such, the Public Works Department will be closed for that day.  This closure includes all city services and the Municipal Landfill off of Moccasin Mike Road.

The closure will alter the days that garbage and recycling is picked up for the remainder of the week.  Residents who usually have their garbage picked up on Monday should have their canister out to the usual spot by 7:00 AM on Tuesday.  All other residents will see their garbage picked up on the same day as usual - however they should anticipate some delays in the timing.

As far as recycling goes, the City of Superior contracts with Hartels/DBJ for pickup.  They will also be observing the holiday on Monday and recycling pickup will be delayed for residents by one day the remainder of the week. All recycling questions should be directed at Hartels/DBJ.  Their phone number is 218-729-5446.
