Joe Walsh to Appear on ‘Live From Daryl’s House’

Daryl Hall has been inviting an eclectic crew of musical guests into his home in upstate New York since 2007 to join him for his free monthly web-to-cable series âLive from Darylâs House.â Inching in on a huge milestone for the show, this week (Nov. 15) marks the 60th episode and Hall will celebrate in smashing fashion with a visit from legendary Eagles and James Gang guitarist Joe Walsh.
In each episode of ‘Live From Daryl’s House’ fans tune in to see Hall and his musical guest play a mix of the artistâs original music, songs from Hall’s own expansive career and chat about their lives over dinner. In this special episode Walsh episode Hall and Walsh jam on classic tunes like âRocky Mountain Way,â the Walsh hit âLifeâs Been Goodâ from his 1978 solo disc âBut Seriously, Folksâ and âFunk 49/50â from the James Gang days. From Hallâs repertoire the two legends rip out âSomebody to Love’ and âWrong Side of History.â
In addition to the music, throughout the episode the two talk about their respect for one another, the evolution of music, and the story behind Walshâs first guitar after trading in trombone and clarinet. âI stumbled across the guitar, because I needed something I could play that wasnât in my mouth, and that I could write music on,â Walsh told Hall. âI was never going to get any girls playing clarinet. Not that I got any playing guitar, but it was a lot more fun.â
Walsh also talked about finally getting a chance to hang out with Hall. âHeâs been a favorite of mine for a long time,â Walsh explained. âAnd I finally wound up on the East Coast with enough time to get up to Daryl’s and represent. It was great to finally play some music with him. The band’s great, the production crew’s great, and I totally support the home-grown concept. Hope everybody enjoys the show as much as I did.â
Fans can tune in to the âLive From Darylâs Houseâ website and Palladia on Nov. 15 at 11PM ET to watch the special episode.
