On Oct. 14, Jimmy Page will become the first member of Led Zeppelin to publish a memoir -- with a twist.

Titled 'Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page,' the deluxe hardcover tome finds the legendary guitarist looking back on his life and career in one long book-length photo essay. As Page put it in a statement, "I’ve been asked on a number of occasions to do a written book and I thought of the other side of the coin. I thought it would be unique to have an autobiography in photographs, charting my whole musical journey."

Page will promote the book with a one-night-only special event on Nov. 12, when he's scheduled to appear at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, where he'll sit for an evening of conversation and archival readings alongside special guest Chris Cornell. "During the course of a dialogue together, the audience will be invited to join Jimmy and Chris," promises a press release announcing the event that promises the duo will spend time "looking through unseen photos and memorabilia, many drawn from Jimmy's personal archives."

"I always like to do something different," added Page. "If you’re inspired by an idea, really make something of that inspiration. That goes for music, as well as anything else -- even putting a book together! To have a photographic autobiography is a totally different way of looking at things, but it does the job very well and I think it will bring a lot of pleasure to people."

Page also surfaces in the new issue of Q, where he singles out Jack White for praise among the current crop of rock stars, calling him "an extraordinary person because he’s like a three-dimensional chess player." When his interviewer suggested that perhaps White was trying to be both Page and Robert Plant in one, Page laughed: "But he’s more successful than they are, 'cause he keeps doing repeat performances ... "
