Drivers who utilize County State Aid Highway 4 - otherwise known as the Vermilion Trail - will want to know about some roadwork that begins on Monday, June 6.

Crews from St. Louis County will begin a project to resurface approximately 12 miles worth of the road - between the Thompson Lake Road to just south of Marshall Truck Trail.  The work area encompasses the distance between Island Lake and the Whiteface Reservoir.

While the road will remain open to traffic, drivers can expect delays.  Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.  The project is expected to be complete by mid-August.

The total estimated cost for this resurfacing work is around $3.3 million - with funding coming from the Transportation Sales Tax.
