We've already hit that 4th of July mark of the summer - a holiday that marks a significant role in our nations history along with an assumed "half-way point" to the season.  With the approaching Independence Day observance comes changes to the garbage pick up schedule for the City of Superior.

Independence Day (July 4) falls on Wednesday this year.  All city offices will be closed on that day - including the municipal landfill.  In order to accommodate the closure, the usual garbage schedule will be altered in the following ways:

  • Monday and Tuesday pickup days:  There will be no change.
  • Wednesday:  There will be no collections at all in the City of Superior. Residents who usually have their garbage collected on this date should have it out to the usual pick-up spot on Thursday morning.
  • Thursday and Friday:  No changes to the date for pick up, however residents can anticipate some delays from the usual time.

Recycling is not handled by the City of Superior; the service is contracted out to Hartels/DBJ.  According to the city, there will be no changes for recycling on Monday and Tuesday.  On Wednesday, no recycling will be collected.  The remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.
