Ina Garten At Bake Sale: Geniune Interest Or PR Clean-Up?
First - full disclosure: I am a genuine Ina Garten fan and find plenty of inspiration from her cookbooks and her TV show. I believe that in an industry where there aren't a lot of genuine people, Garten embodies a celebrity that is true-to-form both on and off the television. However, she is getting flack - more flack to be exact - over a recent episode of her Barefoot Contessa show, which airs on the Food Network.
If you remember back a year ago, Ina got in trouble for denying a six-year old cancer patients Make A Wish Foundation request - not once, but twice. On an episode that aired a week ago, Ina was featured offering her cooking instruction and talents to a group of special needs students - in an effort to raise awareness and money for a field trip.
Kudos to Ina Garten.
But, some people are wondering if it was a public relations setup - meant to offset the bad press from a year ago.
What do YOU think?
