New changes are coming for the lower Woodland area to discuss Parking. The public is invited to the December meeting of the Duluth Parking Commission this Friday.

According to duluthmn.gov, Here are some of the proposed changes.

Converting the western half of East Clover Street (between Woodland Avenue and East 8th Street) from its current configuration of parking only on the south side to a new configuration of parking only on the north side (with a potential time limit).

Adding the eastern half of East Clover Street (between East 8th Street and East 7th Street) to the UMD-area resident parking permit zone.

Converting East 8th Street (between its cul-de-sac terminus near Woodland Avenue and East Clover Street) to the weekly alternate side calendar parking system.

Converting East College Street (between East 8th Street and Irving Place) to the weekly alternate side calendar parking system.

Prohibiting parking in the cul-de-sac terminus of East 8th Street (near Woodland Avenue).

Prohibiting parking on both sides of East College Street within 30 feet of its crosswalk intersecting with East 8th Street.

These proposals are in addition to the two-block expansion of the UMD-area resident permit parking zone that was approved by the City Council on November 26.

The Duluth Parking Commission will consider these changes in its December meeting, which will start at 7:30 a.m. this Friday, December 7, and be held in Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting may feel free to contact Parking Manager Matthew Kennedy at 218-730-5178 to provide feedback on these proposals.
