The ice skating trail at Central Park is now open! Central Park puts Maple Grove on the map as the first refrigerated ice skating trail in Minnesota.

I am not a big fan of going to a ice rink and just going around and around in a circle, it's cold and you never see anything new. Well if the North Land would but in a Skating trail that would be a different story.

You’ll find skating trails in Toronto and Chicago, but Central Park puts Maple Grove on the map as the first refrigerated ice skating trail in Minnesota. And only a few refrigerated and maintained ice loops like Central Park’s exist.

The trail is very large and winds through the park like you’re talking a hike and it spans 800 feet and a skating ring is normally 570 feet around. The skating loop is refrigerated and maintained by a Zamboni. This means the skating loop can open earlier in the season and remain open longer than most outdoor rinks, and when we have a El Nino winter we could be enjoying fun outdoor skating.
