With the Big Game on Sunday, millions will be watching, and I don't mean only the game. We all enjoy watching the cheerleaders don't we? Get a good look at them during the game because unless they receive a substantial wage increase, it could be awhile before we see them again.

In an article posted in the San Jose Mercury-News, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of past and present Raiderettes claiming that the NFL team withholds all pay for the cheerleaders until after the season is completed, does not pay for all hours worked, and forces the cheerleaders to pay many of their own business expenses. The suit also states that the Raiderettes earn $1250.00 per year, which averages out to $5.00 per hour.

A Huffington Post article states that the cheerleaders have to be at each of the sixteen games, attend regular practices, and maintain a rigid physical standard, which leaves little if any time for them to have a regular job. To put it in perspective  a ticket for this years game is $1,700.00. You'll pay more for that ticket than your average cheerleader makes in a year.
