Drivers who use Highway 65 will need to be advised about a 15-mile project that will cause delays and lane closures.

The project starts at Woodland Junction in Kanabec County at Mile Post 85 and ends at Pliney Junction in Aitkin County at Mile Post 97.

Flaggers and a pilot car will open up one lane to usher and allow traffic to get through the work area.  Crews will be working Monday through Saturday.

A bituminous reclamation machine will be used as a mill to complete the project.  The machine chops and rotates the pavement and mixes it with the existing gravel base material.  After this is graded, new pavement will be applied over the top.  When finished, motorists will experience a smoother, safer ride.

Already underway, the road project will last until early September.
