Highway 53 Traffic Switch Happens August 26; Affects Drivers North Of Virginia

A road construction project happening north of Virginia, Minnesota on Highway 53 will see some lane changes that drivers will want to be aware of.

Motorists traveling on Hwy 53 near the four-lane expansion project north of Virginia will encounter a traffic switch on Monday, August 26. Traffic will be shifted onto the newly-constructed northbound lanes from Goodell Road to Heino Road and from Airport Road to the south limits of Cook.

Reconstruction of the southbound lanes from Goodell Road to Heino Road and from Airport Road to the south limits of Cook will begin Tuesday, August 27.

When the project is complete in the summer of 2014, drivers on Highway 53 will encounter approximately 20-additional miles of four-lane highway north of Virginia.
