June 11th is the kick-off date for the Highway 53 bridge project near Cotton.  Traffic will be restricted to a single-lane bypass as a new bridge is built over the Paleface River.  That single-lane bypass is less than a mile long, but motorists may encounter backups.

MNDot officials are trumpeting the new bridge that they're building, as it will be the first bridge built in Minnesota to use pre-cast deck panels.  It will also be coated with an epoxy chip seal to provide better skid resistance.
