Drivers who use Highway 53 near the relocation project will want to heed the advice of the Minnesota Department of Transportation and use caution as work ramps up in the next few weeks.

Crews working on the project have stepped up efforts to get ready for a switch-over that will last the remainder of the summer.

Starting next week - on July 11 - there will be one lane of traffic in each direction as Highway 53 is switched-over to the northbound lanes for the next 11 weeks - between Vermilion Drive and the eastbound ramp to 135.  In addition, the ramp from Highway 135 to southbound 53 has been closed.

Nest summer, traffic will switch-over to the southbound lanes.
