Flagmen, lane shifts, closures, and more will greet drivers along Highway 38 in Grand Rapids starting Tuesday, May 29 as the Minnesota Department of Transportation gets underway on a project to improve the roadway.  The work begins right after morning drive.

The scope of the work on Highway 38 runs between 5th Street NW through 14th Street NW.  As mentioned, some of the lanes of the highway will be closed to traffic during  that time - as well as some of the center turn lanes.  In addition, the necessity of daytime flaggers will occur when work warrants complete closures.

As the project unfolds, MNDOT will make improvements to the highway and resurface the roadway in order to provide safer pedestrian accessibility and a smoother ride surface.

The work is anticipated to last until the end of July.
