Drivers who use Highway 33 in Cloquet will experience some lane closures and delays this week as crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation work to make improvements to the roadway.  The work is part of MNDOT's summer schedule.

The scope of the work involves resurfacing, accessibility improvements and safety additions.

Both the north and south-bound lanes will be affected - from the north end of the St. Louis River at Railroad Street to just north of Stark Road.  The closures will only occur during the daytime hours.  Meanwhile, traffic will be restricted on the roadway starting at Noon.

In order to accommodate the extra traffic that occurs during the weekend, MNDOT will open the closures at Noon on Friday - and put them back into place early Monday mornings.

The project is expected to be complete by August 19.
