If you travel highway 23/Grand Avenue between West Duluth and Gary-New Duluth - get ready for some additional delays.  Work is already progressing in this the second year of the two-year project to totally rebuild the roadway - work that has been needed for some time.  Drivers who use this route have already faced orange cones and some backups the last two summers.  Now those delays are about to get worse.

Starting Friday, July 15 or Saturday, July 16, crews will restrict traffic to a single lane for both directions near 88th Avenue West/Arbor Street - one of the entrances to Morgan Park.  The restriction is necessary to allow Minnesota Department of Transportation crews access to two culverts that they are replacing.

Motorists should expect delays as they wait for their turn to use the single lane that will be open for north and south (or east and west - as Duluth goes) movement.

The work is expected to last about three weeks.
