Highway 169 Detour Between Virginia And Tower

Work has begun on a road construction project on Highway 169 between Virginia and Tower that will cause delays due to a detour.

The work itself is happening at the Highway 169 junction with County Road 26 just southwest of Tower.

• Northbound motorists on Highway 169 will be detoured east on Country Road 26 and then north on Highway 135.
• Southbound motorists on Highway 169 will be detoured south on Highway 135 and then west on County Road 26.

The reconstruction project seeks to extend the shoulders on Highway 169 to 8 feet, improve turning lanes, flatten hills, straighten curves, and improve ditching and drainage.
