Family, friends, and colleagues gathered on Wednesday, September 2 to unveil a permanent memorial to St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputy Bradley Anderson;  Highway 100 in White Township just south of Aurora will now bear the name Deputy Sheriff Bradley Anderson Memorial Highway.

Deputy Anderson died while on duty on September 2, 2002 while responding to an emergency call;  the patrol car he was riding in collided with a minivan, taking his life.

The memorial highway designation covers County State Aid Highway 100 between CSAH 4 and CSAH 99; it includes the accident site where Deputy Anderson died at the age of 50 - leaving behind a wife and two sons.

Anderson served St. Louis County as a deputy for 11 years and prior to that he had worked as an Alaska State Trooper for 10 years.
