For over 20 years,  the National Association of Letter Carriers have collected food for area food shelves on the second Saturday in May. This year they are asking your help to beat last years numbers. This year more families need help than ever before.

This year the drive is on May 9, 2015 and it's easy to take part. Some people will get bags in the mail, some may have to just use your own. Fill it with non-perishable food items and leave it on your porch or front door and the letter carrier will pick it up.

The food is taken back to a postal facility, then sorted and delivered by union volunteers to area food banks or pantries for families that need access. This food drive has collected more than one billion pounds of food since its inception in 1993. The NPMHU is calling on all Mail Handlers, family and friends to join in, support, and donate to this great program.
