TotalPics

Residents who get their water from the City of Hayward are being asked to run water from a faucet in their home at a quarter-inch stream (about the size of a pencil) until further notice.  The potential for city water services freezing is high, especially with the cold temperatures we’ve experienced so far this winter.

Officials say that consumers water readings will be averaged so that they won’t be charged for the excess water usage.

The last time that the City of Hayward asked residents to run their water to prevent freeze-ups was in 2009.
