Hammond Avenue Restriping To Occur Wednesday July 22; Extra Lanes To Accomodate Traffic

You complained  - they listened.  As we progress through more than 6 or 7 years of reduced bridge access in the Twin Ports, many were calling for extra lanes on Hammond Avenue to accommodate the congestion that's occurring near the Blatnik Bridge this summer.

The City of Superior will be re-striping Hammond Avenue southbound from the Blatnik Bridge to Winter Street just prior to the Wednesday July 22 morning commute. The new configuration will consist of one lane for thru traffic and a second lane for thru traffic and right turns, to lessen traffic congestion during peak times. Hammond Avenue from Winter Street to Belknap Street and Hammond Ave Northbound will remain unchanged.
