Grandma A Hopeful For Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader [Video]

A 55-year-old cheerleader named Sharon Simmons auditioned for Dallas Cowboys last Saturday.

A grandmother of two from Carrollton, joined hundreds of hopefuls during the audition for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

She said she thought about it when she was younger, but having no money and being a single Mom she couldn't do it. She said, she was starting her journey. It's all about the journey, I had to learn things in my life before I could do this. I had no idea that not trying out would teach me more about me and my life. So for 33 years she waited.

So, how does she fell about being 55 years old and just trying out for a cheerleading spot? “I don’t see a number. If I do, it’s just a number. It’s not that I can’t keep up with [younger women] in the physical part of the training.” she said to ABC News last week regarding her age.
