Gas Utility Project To Affect Traffic In Lakeside On 48th Avenue East

If you live in the Lakeside area or your daily commute takes you near 48th Avenue East, you'll encounter a work crew replacing a gas main during the next three weeks or so.  According to the City of Duluth, the work will help to maintain a main gas distribution loop for the neighborhood.

The scope of the work will affect 48th Avenue East between Superior and Glenwood Streets.  Initially, crews will be at the Lake Walk Trail - requiring a closure of the trail between 48th and 52nd Avenue East.

City officials anticipate a Lake Walk detour to last until the end of the month, with street closures happening on an "as-needed" basis throughout the project - and only during normal work hours.
