Former UMD defenseman Norm Maciver will be bringing Lord Stanley's Cup to the Northland for an appearance at AMSOIL Arena in early October.

Maciver, a former UMD All-American, is the assistant manager of the Chicago Blakhawks. Chicago won last year's Stanley Cup Championship, giving team members the opportunity to tour the cup around the country.

The trophy will be on display in the AMSOIL Arena concourse between 4 pm and 6 pm on Friday October 4; with fans being able to check out the Cup free of charge. The viewing opportunity kicks off a night of hockey at AMSOIL, with the UMD women's hockey team hitting the ice for their season opener against the University of Connecticut at 6:07.
