The City Of Duluth needs your help. Your and your family are invited to come to Family Volunteer Day at the Downtown Public Library to participate in family friendly activities and connect with local organizations to learn how you can volunteer in your community!

For more than two decades, Family Volunteer Day has been held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday season with giving and service. This year, Duluth will be celebrating Family Volunteer Day on Saturday, November 22nd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Green Room at the downtown Duluth Public Library, located at 520 West Superior Street.

Family Volunteer Day will feature family friendly projects and an expo of local organizations that are looking for family volunteers. Projects include Hands-Only CPR taught by the Duluth Fire Department, screening books for the Big Red Bookshelf, and creating holiday cards and place mats for local senior centers and food shelves. Featured organizations include Great Lakes Aquarium, Salvation Army, Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, CASDA, and the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation.

This is a great way to teach kids about volunteering, and a great way for families to spend time together doing something for the people in their community. if this sounds like something you would like to do, click here to sign up. The first 20 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.
