Everyone is doing their part to become healthier people. We eat right, we exercise, less and less people are smoking. You'll be shocked to know, that is not the most dangerous thing you do all day. A very common thing almost everyone does can raise your risk of Heart attack by 54 % !!  Read this study...

According to democraticunderground.com, there is a shocking study in the Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. Scientists at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Louisiana analyzed the lifestyles of more than 17,000 men and women over about 13 years, and found that people who sit for most of the day are 54 percent more likely to die of heart attacks.

So, what I gather is sitting all day is as bad as smoking. So how do you combat that?

According to lifehacker.com, you only need to do two things to counter the effects of sitting all day:

  1. Remember to stand once an hour.
  2. Get about 30 minutes of activity per day.

So, what does that mean? Walk, run, do something that you are getting some kind of work out. If you work at a desk job, walk to lunch, walk around the building, or bring a couple of water jugs and lift them.  Do something!
