According to a press release sent out by Douglas County:

Saturday, February 25th at 11 am the Douglas County Historical Society (DCHS) will be hosting a special event for the opening of our NEW Native American exhibit! The exhibit titled “The First people of Douglas County” will feature never before seen artifacts and photographs from the DCHS collection while also revealing the age of our mysterious Dugout Canoe. The event is FREE to the public with light snacks and beverages provided for all guests! Visitors will enjoy a display of timeless Anishinaabe traditions and ornate craftsmanship on exhibit.   It was all made possible by the Duluth Superior Community Foundation’s Anishinaabe grant.

Join us and experience the beauty of the Douglas County’s Native American history while also getting the first look at some amazing never before seen items!
