What better way to celebrate a beautiful Saturday in June than outdoors - enjoying the sunshine.  The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is offering up their state park system free of charge on Saturday, June 13.  For this one day only, you can take advantage of free admission to Minnesota's State Park System.

We're lucky in the Northland that we live near many of the options that the state has to offer.  From the Jay Cooke State Park to Gooseberry up the North Shore to the Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine and the many destinations on the Iron Range, you're sure to find something to interest you.

In conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day, many of these State Park locations will offer special programming.  Of particular interest to some Twin Ports residents might be the celebration of Jay Cooke State Park's one-hundred year anniversary.

The Minnesota DNR website offers a detailed breakdown of the state park system along with many other useful resources.
