Minnesota Power is reporting a power outage in an area of East Duluth that is impacting hundreds of customers Tuesday morning. The outage map on the Minnesota Power website showed an area extending from around UMD northward and eastward. The area initially posted on the map was significantly larger, extending into the Arnold area and toward Lester River, impacting an estimated 9,000 customers at the peak of the outage. The impacted area has been shrunk to the area roughly between UMD and Northland Country Club as of 8:45 am.

UPDATE: 3/22/16 09:03 am: Minnesota Power's outage map is reporting the issue has been resolved.

At this time there is no known cause for the outage.
