Four different varieties of Duncan Hines boxed cake mixes are being recalled by the company over salmonella-contamination concerns.  According to the United States Food and Drug Administration, a retail sample has tested positive for the strain that may be linked to a recent outbreak.  Five occurances of salmonella are being researched at the present time.

At this time, the following varieties of Duncan Hines boxed cake mixes are being recalled:

  • Duncan Hines Classic White Cake 15.25oz. - with a UPC# 644209307500  - and "Best If Used By" dates of MAR 7 2019, MAR 8 2019, MAR 9 2019, MAR 10 2019, MAR 12 2019, and MAR 13 2019.
  • Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake 15.25oz. - with a UPC# 644209307494 - and "Best If Used By" dates of  MAR 9 2019, MAR 10 2019, MAR 12 2019, and MAR 13 2019.
  • Duncan Hines Classic Butter Golden Cake 15.25oz - with a UPC# 644209307593 - and  "Best If Used By" dates of MAR 7 2019, MAR 8 2019, and MAR 9 2019.
  • Duncan Hines Signature Confetti Cake 15.25oz. - with a UPC# 644209414550 - and "Best If Used By" dates of MAR 12 2019 and MAR 13 2019.

Consumers who have purchased these items are advised not to consume them and to return them to the store where originally purchased.
