Duluth Public Library Offers Winter Break Fun For Kids – February 17-20
Duluth Public Schools will be out for Winter Break February 17-20. To help keeps kids busty, the Duluth Public Library has scheduled a series of programs and events each day.
Tuesday February 17:
- Preschool story times will happen at 10:15AM at the Mount Royal Branch and at 6:30 PM at the West Duluth branch.
- There will also be a movie shown at the Main Library's Green Room. The movie Scooby Doo! Frankencreepy will start at 2PM. It runs 74 minutes and the film is not rated.
- A Mardi Gras Masquerade will happen at 6:30 PM at the West Duluth Branch. This event is geared towards kids in grades 1-6, with mask-making, beads, and traditional (family-friendly) treats.
Wednesday February 18:
- Baby & Toddler Time will happen at 10:15 AM at the Main Library's Green Room
- Preschool Storytime will happen at 11:15 AM at the Main Library's Green Room
- Minecraft For Teens will happen from 2-4 PM at the Main Library's Computer Lab. Come to play Minecraft for fun or participate in a building or survival contest. Registration for this event is required. Call 730-42oo option 4 or visit duluthlibrary.org.
- Squad Car Storytime will happen at 3:45 PM in the Main Library's Youth Services Area. A Duluth Police Officer will read stories to kids.
- Pajama Storytime will happen at 6:30 PM at the Mount Royal Branch.
Thursday February 19:
- Teen Gaming will happen from 3-5 PM in the Main Library's Gold Room.
- Teen Anime and Manga Club will happen from 4-6 PM in the Main Library's Green Room. Anime, cosplay, manga, food, and games. This group meets every month and all teens in grades 6-12 are welcome.
Friday February 20
- A Tall Tales Storytelling will happen at 4PM in the Main Library Green Room. Astound your friends with your ability to spin a tale. Anyone can learn how to take an ordinary event in their day and turn it into an entertaining story. See a performance of a favorite story and then learn how to create one of your own. This event is for kids grades 2-5. Registration is required by visiting duluthlibrary.org or by calling 730-4200 option 4.
