Officials with the City of Duluth are assuring patrons that an apparent infestation of bed bugs has been taken care of at the downtown location of the Public Library.  According to a release from the city, it was quick observation and action by an employee that headed the potential for greater harm off at the pass.  The library location is open to the public without an cause for concern.

A staff member observed a bed bug on the first level of the building on Wednesday, March 28.  Crews worked over the night to treat the building for the pests, using a product called CrossFire; while an initial application was done, two additional applications must follow.  According to the city, these additional applications will also happen during the overnight hours.

Due to the nature of the infestation (bed bugs), the library is being proactive with shared information to the press, along with providing fact sheets at the front desk for those who want more details.
