The Duluth Police are eliminating their mounted patrol unit.

The mounted patrol was reintroduced in 2014 after a 10-year absence, but budget concerns are forcing the current Police Chief to cut the unit.

The horses are listed for sale on the city's website.

The mounted patrol made their last public appearance at the Christmas City of the North Parade on Friday night.
