If you were helping the City Of Duluth and Learned the Minnesota Method to making roses last the winter, here's an opportunity to learn how to bring them back.

The City of Duluth’s Parks Maintenance staff are preparing for the annual “raising of the roses” in the popular Duluth Rose Garden on London Road and 13th Ave East. You will learn how to care for the roses and be one of the people intrumental in the beauty of the Rose Garden,

Volunteers are invited to join in on this annual spring tradition at any of these upcoming Rose Garden work days:

Saturday, April 28 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Tuesday, May 1 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

** All dates and times are subject to change and are weather dependent. **

City staff and representatives from the Lake Superior Rose Society will be on hand to teach volunteers the spring steps of the "Minnesota Tip" method for tender roses.

Individuals, families and all others interested in helping at the Rose Garden are encouraged to show up during the times listed above. Pre-registration is encouraged at http://duluthmn.gov/parks/volunteer/volunteer-calendar/ but is not required. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves (if possible) and to dress for the weather. Volunteers should look for City staff who will provide directions on how to "dig-in."

UPDATE: Because there were so many hands to help the first time, all the work is done.
