Duluth Community Plans Three Evening Event To Show Support For Local Law Enforcement, August 25-27
They protect us everyday from some of the worst stuff that plagues our community: violence, crime and drugs. Our local law enforcement officials tirelessly perform their jobs each day so that we can feel safe.
In a positive show of support, a group of local organizers are holding an event billed as "We Stand Behind Our Heroes: Duluth Supports Their Law Enforcement Officials". The peaceful, family-friendly event will happen three different nights - August 25, 26 and 27 from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the South Street Footbridge between 16th and 17th Avenue East. Organizers invite you to pick one of the evenings or attend all three.
A press release from the organizers stresses that this is not a protest. Blocking traffic, protesting, and bashing of any kind will not be tolerated. On the contrary, this effort seeks to promote support for the law enforcement officials who work hard for us every day.
Participants are asked to wear blue if they can and bring candles, glow-sticks, and balloons if they want.
More information can be found on the groups event page on Facebook.
