The steps towards an eventual replacement for the so-called Can of Worms Intersection - the interchange that sits at I-35, Highway 53, and the Blatnik Bridge - continue to move along.  Along the way, officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation have been doing good job of keeping the general public in the loop and up-to-date with information regarding the plans.

One of the ways that MNDOT has been keeping people informed is through public meetings.  A series of these public meetings have been taking place since plans were first announced; the next in that series of public meetings is scheduled for Monday, August 27. Two different (but identical) sessions are on the calendar:

  • August 27 - 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • August 27 - 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Both sessions will be held at Clyde Iron Works: 2920 West Michigan Street in Duluth.  To request an ASL or foreign language interpreter or other reasonable accommodations ahead of the sessions, call Janet Miller: 651-366-4720 or 1-800-657-3774 or 1-800-627-3529.  Individuals can also call 711.
