The Duluth Transit Authority is commemorating the grand opening of a Jefferson Lines' ticket counter today and you're invited to the Discover Duluth Transportation event.

Jefferson Lines has a couple of different choices when it comes to the route that goes from Duluth to the Twin Cities.  My mother and I had taken a Greyhound years ago to Chicago and it stopped at all the small towns between here and there, it was a great way to see the countryside.  Jefferson Lines' regular route will stop in Cloquet, Moose Lake, Sandstone, Hinckley, North Branch, Forest Lake and Blaine, MN before arriving at the Twin Cities. That's perfect for college students of Duluth to use as transportation to get home for the weekend.  Their Express route leaves Duluth and is non-stop to Minneapolis and St.Paul.

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson has proclaimed today, Thursday, October 13,  "Jefferson Lines Day in Duluth" and will be reading the proclamation during the program at the grand opening starting at 3p.  They also plan on serving refreshments from 2-3p and again from 4-6p.

If you haven't gotten a chance to visit the new Duluth Transportation Center at 228 West Michigan Street, today is the day to take advantage of viewing the amazing facility and get in on welcoming Jefferson Lines.  Everyone is invited to the free event that will include musical entertainment and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
