Heads up on some street closures planned for downtown Duluth! A series of temporary closures April 3 through May 27 will enable crews to work on the Maurices Headquarters that is being constructed at the corner of Superior Street and 5th Avenue West.

As part of the next stage of the project, 4th Ave West between Superior Street and the alley below 1st Street will need to be temporarily closed for the placement of a crane on the street to install precast to the building.

The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department is also informing the public that starting on April 3, 4th Ave West will be closed to motorized traffic until May 6. The sidewalk on the east side of 4th Avenue West will remain open for pedestrians and vehicles will be able to access the Phoenix parking lot through the alley. After that period, the crane will be moved to the north bound lane of 5th Avenue West between Superior Street and the alley below 1st Street. The north bound lane of 5th Avenue West will then be closed from May 7 until about May 27th.
