By now you've heard the news that there has been a confirmed case of West Nile Virus in a bird that was found near Spooner, Wisconsin in Washburn County.  As the summer mosquito season heats up, it's important for everyone to be diligent when it comes to their safety.

Douglas County has established a Hotline number to call to report dead birds.  The general public is asked to call to report dead or sick birds that they find - especially crows, ravens, and blue jays.  The number is 1-800-433-1610 and it will remain active until the end of October.
