Douglas County Asks Homeowners To Hold Off On Property Tax Payments

Here's something you don't see very often:  The Douglas County Treasurers Office is asking homeowners to hold off on making payments - but it's not what you're thinking.

While the county website lists an amount for the property taxes that are due, the office is asking that people hold off until December 15, 2014 or until they have received their bill in the mail.  This is to ensure that the amounts listed on line have been verified and found correct. Tax amounts are automatically posted to the website as soon as they are calculated, but have not been verified. If there are errors, this will prevent overpayments or underpayments from being posted to parcels unnecessarily.
