According to an article in today's Huffington Post, Amazon Prime deliveries regularly arrived late, especially during the holidays. They had the same problem the year before, although late deliveries were less in 2014 than in 2013.

Amazon Prime members can use the two day delivery (although many items are not eligible), and experts say the two day delivery is the number one reason folks upgrade to Prime. It now seems Amazon is caught between a rock and a hard place.

While Amazon Prime increased it membership 50% in 2014, late shipments can quickly see that percentage drop if it continues. Amazon has toyed with the idea of opening retail shops or investing in their own fleet of trucks to combat the problem, but as of yet no decision has been made.
